Tabraiz Shamsi jumps to career-best second in ICC T20I rankings


Mohammad Rizwan, the leading run-scorer, jumped 116 places to 42nd in the batting list

South Africa’s left-arm wristspinner Tabraiz Shamsi has risen to a career-best second position in the ICC T20I rankings for bowlers, following his four-wicket haul against Pakistan in Lahore. Shamsi was the joint leading wicket-taker in the three-match series, picking up six scalps at an average of 10.16 and an economy rate of 5.08. In the final match, he took 4 for 25 to spin South Africa to a four-wicket victory, allowing him to overtake Adam Zampa, Adil Rashid and Mujeeb ur Rahman on the list. Shamsi is now just three points behind Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who occupies top spot.
